Concerning ye olde farmyard gate, is it a five-barred gate with a diagonal slat on the back or a four-barred gate and the diagonal slat at the back making it up to the five?...no doubt there could be two diags on the back in an "x" formation...but whichever it is, I've forgotten - and it doesn't have to be farmyard, just out in the countryside! Ta Muchly and Keep Well All.

a wide gate consisting of five horizontal bars and usually one or two bars going from corner to corner.
