I'm in the process of looking to buy a new kitchen & am getting fed up with expensive quotes for fitting b & Q wanted 2000 to fit a 1500 kitchen n a private bloke out of newspaper wanted 1500 to fit 1000 kitchen. i have a really strict 2000 budget n need a cooker & hob as well as sink n taps but only need a basic 8-10 unit kitchen. am happy to have everything basic as i don't use it alot does anyone know where i can get anything in this budget or am i being totally unrealistic? getting to stage where i'm tempted to try n fit one myself! thanks
fit it yourself, if you can do flatpack furniture you will be fine, ask a local electrician and gasman to wire you up.
the only problem you will come across is the tops!! you will need somebody to do your workyop cuts and you only get 1 chance, but again, get someone local in to do it and you will do it ok!!!
ooo in that case my dad might do it. he charges about 500 i think. He is always in notts doing houses up inc kitchens. If you are interested let me know and i will sweet talk him, Could e mail you photos of ones he has done. Anyway let me know.
I use sub-contractors to fit the kitchens on our new build - they make more on one job fitting for the DIY chains but the work is not regular as the chains have several fitters they use. If you can get one of these to do the job and cut out the retailer you would save of the fitting cost - andy
