Keeping threads at the top

I'm a member of many forums and in all of them, the thread will be moved to the top of the pile once a reply has been made.

But on AB, it just moves further down every time a new thread comes on.....despite how popular the old thread may be.

The result is that you have to plough through many pages to get to a popular thread with many replies that was started the day before. In fast moving areas such as B&S, this is pretty damn time consuming and quite often, the thread is forgotten about.

Is there any way that a thread can remain at the beginning after a new post has been made ?

good idea hammer!!
Hi Hammerman,
Try using the "most recently answered" tab. Works a treat :)

Or, and this is a bit off the wall I know, but you could hit the 'Most Recently Answered' tab and hey presto! your wish comes true :o))

To be honest, I kind of like that those with a lot of asnwers disappear, as they are often the ones I really, really don't want to read or post on.
dr estie - wow, was going to say great minds, but that would only be applicable to you lol Still, SNAP! x
LOL Kick, weird timing!

I also agree with your second point. I so rarely have any interest in those 10-page-long chat threads that invariably involve the same 5-10 people.

Did you find the button yet, hammerman?

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
good weekend to you too estie (and admarlow and hammerman too, of course). xx
And you Drestie..! which reminds me..the ED always says that...Havent seen a pink box in ages??.dont spose someone's locked her in the Dungeon.(:o)
I also noticed the abscence of little pink boxes. I think I want the ed's job if she gets all this holiday time!
I once posted a thread asking for the Ed's job because of all her holidays- she banned it :-(
Uh oh, am I in trouble now? LOL
Dungeons that way drestie >>>>>>>>>>>>>(:o)
aaah, kicky. how your attitude to long threads has changed since BSH got his "hands on you". lol
i think this is a terrible idea!!

as all the threads will get mixed up and you will have to trawl back for pages to make sure you haven't missed any - if they stay in order, you know which ones you have seen.

also, the less popular threads will disappear off the page with great speed because all sorts of older ones will be continuously brought to the top when they are days, even weeks old.

this idea will just bring confusion if you think about it throroughly
Stevie, lmao, note the use of the word "often" not "always" ...no bad thing that some of them disappear.... ;op
