Movies / Programmes Over Christmas
32 Answers
It's always hit and miss as to whether we will get some decent films on over Christmas but personally I am hoping for the following:
Mary Poppins (I note that it's on this afternoon but I'll be working)
The Sound Of Music
My Fair Lady
The National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
Dr Doolittle (the Rex Harrison version)
OH will no doubt be hoping for Back To The Future.
What films or programmes would you like over Christmas?

Not keen on musicals except for the King and I or West Side Story. But I expect all the usual Christmas cheesy films. Am hoping Netflix will have some good stuff.
Anything that keeps mum happy will do, have already bought loads of old musicals on dvd, and John Wayne films, ( no smart tv so streaming isn't an option without adaptors and tying up my kindle). It's a good thing is she will forget what she has seen so I should be able to run them more than once. Also loads of Repair shop on catch up. She loves that.
Here's a list of programmes known to be scheduled for transmission over the Christmas period:

I'm worried that Jools Holland's Hootenanny isn't listed for New Year's Eve yet but, as it didn't join the list until late last year, I'm still hopeful. There's not much in the the list that I'll definitely watch but I'll probably view . . .
Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas
Live at the Apollo Christmas Special
QI Christmas Special
Spitting Image Christmas Special
The Voice Kids
Terry Pratchett’s The Abominable Snow Baby
. . . and, because I'm a big kid at heart, the CBeebies Christmas Show: The Night Before Christmas.
For some old favourites, I'd like to watch Blackadder's Christmas Carol, The Muppet Christmas Carol and the Christmas edition of The Good Life ("Silly, But It's Fun") where Margo doesn't get her delivery of Christmas goodies and has to rely on Tom and Barbara to make Christmas special for her and Jerry.
For movies, I'd love to see (but know I won't) anything on this list:

alongside some great family movies, such as Time Bandits.
