"Let's take back control of our Borders" says Boris once again as 25,000 Immigrants,
.... (since Brexit came into effect on 1st jan 2021).. have slipped into Britain unopposed .
Heard this all before Mr Johnson......seems like Brexit was a complete waste of time and money.
//My description was deliberately exaggerated and cliched for the purposes of makng a point.//
Of course it was.
And on the point of the RNLI donations, if they didnt receive any donation this year (which wont happen) they have enough to carry on. So if people want to make a point about the 'woke' RNLI this year then they can without being accused of putting peoples lives in danger.
# leveling up the North south divide -he's nothing more than a lying little basket. Creamed off labour votes in the NE ( well commy corbyn did'nt help) and now rescinding on just about everything he promised.
The reason the problem has not been solved is partly because it’s very difficult and partly because it’s such a political issue that the temptation is too great to come up with headline grabbing dead which are more than likely to fail.
So it’s good that Johnson is banging heads together. Barclay seems at least semi-competent. However why is he doing this? Probably only because it’s such a political issue (see above)
Agreed ickheria, but while its easy to criticize its hard to find an acceptible solution, especially if what is done means the world sees lots of dead bodies including women and children washed up on the shores. Whats worked for the Poles might backfire here
You can’t do what Poland did of course
Despite what some would like to think
The thing is, although the migrant issue has nothing to do with Brexit, that’s not how a lot of voters who supported Brexit see it. They hear “take back control of our borders” and they see these people crossing the channel and it puts more pressure on to come up with ever more desperate measures
Re Mediterranean crossings apparently Pritler is impressed with how Greece are handling their migrant crisis and plans to copy their way of dealing with it. Not sure how Greece are suddenly an example of how to control their borders seeing as they are still in the EU and exiting that was billed as a prerequisite.
The RNLI volunteers that I was reading about, the chaps that risk their lives going out on the boats aren't happy being used as a taxi service for clearly political reasons by the paid management.
They reckon it's a matter of time before someone (even if they're only white, andy) needlessly drowns while they're on permanent patrol in the Channel.
Matter of time also until some of them lose their regular jobs or give up volunteering.
If you Brexiteers on here are still trying to convince yourselves that Brexit had nothing at all to do with immigration then you are bigger fools than I thought.
