.....at The Cenotaph Remembrance Parade last week. Not that I saw anyway. I mention this because one of the conditions on my e-ticket for entry said that all participants should (not must) wear a face covering unless exempt. Throughout the entire parade and service, I didn't see one person wearing a face mask; not the police, parade marshalls, participating military, politicians and ambassadors, the Royal Party, participants in the parade or the crowd, who were 10 deep in places. Not a facemask in sight. This means that people don't see the need the one for now. Because there isn't any need for one. And they're useless anyway. But you can carry on wearing yours if you think it's doing any good. :o)

Most people I saw in town today had facemasks.
Perhaps it depends where you go: M &S was maybe 90% compliant :-)
NJ //////I don't know there is much to support the notion that vaccines are useless./////

I agree, but it is a significant and dangerous minority, just as much as the wearing of masks in any way, exacerbates the transmission of the Covid virus.
in shops still fairly compliant, ichkeria; outdoors, not so much. That includes me. I remove my mask out on the streets, though I tend to give crowded bits a wide berth, but keep it on in enclosed spaces.

For me the most surprising claim last summer was that nobody's ever caught Covid on a beach. Open air and modest distancing seems to be fully prophylactic.
// nobody's ever caught Covid on a beach//
I can see its unlikely you catch it on the beach given the sun and wind would unless your rolling in the sand with an infected person.But surely theres no evidence to back that up. How does anyone know exactly where anyone caught it apart from the obvious cases in the same house or care home
I don't know, bobb, but I suppose countries with a functioning test and trace system can get a pretty good idea.
It's pointless outside, except perhaps in crowded, enclosed spaces. I never saw many people wearing them outside even at the height of the lockdown
People still gamely mopping down their shopping trolleys I see, which might keep the germs away but not the virus.
I was thinking of remembrance parades specifically, ichkeria, I don't know how crowded they get. (Ten deep may be a lot but Whitehall's quite broad in places.)

Yes jno that is maybe the sort of place it might make sense.
Of course during the lockdown such things were rare ...
