Is There An Upper Limit To The Number Of Characters Used In Reports?

Twice this morning I've tried to submit a report but both times have received an 'error' notification. Is there a reason for this? The report consisted of about 20 lines and I'm wondering if that is too much?

I think if you have to use 798 words to complain / report something on a forum such as this, there's something sadly lacking in your life.

Perhaps you should report it, zacs.

IE, which I know isn't the best - but I tried Chrome too.
I'd never feel the need to report anything in such detail, Naomi. If I did, I'd give myself a good shake, and reassess my priorities.

Highly commendable. Give yourself a pat on the back.
You could always email me, rather than sending a report.

Thanks, but presumably someone else brought the matter to your attention because the issue has been resolved.
naomi - Last time you mentioned reporting, you stated that you never report posts, in the sort of tone people use when they advise others that they don't have a television.

Clearly that is no longer the case.

*That's not true, The last time I said I never report posts was years ago. I've since changed my mind and said so. Keep up.

I'm not sure what 'tone' you perceive, but whatever it is can only be a figment of your imagination.

I must have been putting the things in the fridge in alphabetical order that day, and missed it, a tragedy for none concerned.

It's the Blyton-esque tone you use, such as when you put in phrases like 'Keep up'.

Did you want an argument? If so, pick someone else. I can't be bothered with you.
I think the answer is, dont report - find something better to do

Being a true supporter of free speech, I dont just pay lip service to it, I allow the posts I dont like, to live on.

Last reported.... myself probably, must be three or four months ago. There are times a hinky thread can be made completely incomprehensible by the removal of just one brick....
Am I right in thinking there are stalwarts who use the report button more than the 'answer now' button ?

well there's a thing, so busy and we never see the fruits of their labours
I just put one word in the text box and it's sually the word rude.
'Rude' lol, I like that.
// It's only 798 words //

or characters? I find it difficult to say 798 words on anything on AB. Most ABers flag after three or four ( words ) as you must know well.

I was accused of being too wordy like Jane Eyre in a maff script ....
what, I asked, and Reader, the answer is pi-squared
and my tutor said - exactly

[just trying to lighten a serious thread]
I should have said - Charlotte Bronte used exactly the number of words she needed to , to tell the story
vero tigger
( just saying yes in Latin tiggz)
fancy saying rude stupid and abusive 798 times

Straveensky said of Vivaldi's 614 concerti - - eet is just one concerto written out 614 times....
I draw the line at ( instead of 'rude')
has got a lobb on
because I am told by the man in the street - it has obscene connotations up North
naomi - // Did you want an argument? If so, pick someone else. I can't be bothered with you. //

Please don't flatter yourself.

If you offer your lofty pronouncements on the system of reporting, and than, apparently, rescind them, and then take the huff with anyone who didn't happen to notice your second edict, you can;t blame anyone for looking for a little clarification.

I now know that you do report when it suits you, I'll have to retire and think what sort of impact that is going to have on my future conduct.
