As I keep saying, they are not desperate; they are determined. Desperate people are fleeing for their lives or their safety. The people travelling to England by rubber boat are placing their lives and safety in more peril than by staying in France. What it amounts to is that they don't like it where they are. They are not desperate to leave; they are determined to reach the UK because they know that once here, they will have accommodation, money and healthcare lavished upon them beyond their wildest dreams.

no idea, they look ok if a little bit weary from the crossing. I too wonder at the lengths many will go to get here. How do they afford it for a start, from whence they came, say Syria, how many countries do they come through before reaching France then the UK. It must take thousands of pounds to reach France without the cost of travelling over the channel. where do they get the money from?

France isn't going to do much to stop them, as been said it's less people for them to worry over.

they know they will never be deported, and have full medical hotel cash, eventually a flat or house pendong family needs etc, and tax payer benefits for life, the uk government past and present are weak, bleeding hearts and lawyers to black them, laws needs changing.

of course some get jobs. Migrant men are more likely to be employed than UK-born men (84% vs 79% in 2019). So if you actually want the country to stay in business you need to export lazy Brits and get in more immigrants.

where are these figures from?

All the middle eastern central African, Muslims and Somalian's that come to my hospital with tooth ache can barley speak English or fill a form out with their details.
