In the episode Walls of Silence, a song is played when a woman commits suicide, by jumping (leaving her handbag behind) - a song is playing the the background, lyrics I think are 'I hear only what I want to'. Could anyone help me out? Please?

It might be Stay by Lisa Loeb, but that's just an educated guess. There might be a Dalziel & Pascoe episode guide somewhere on the web that could confirm or deny it.

Have checked out tvtome, which are usually really good at this information but it's not listed.. not convinced it's lisa loeb. Gut reaction was it was portishead or something, unsure :(

It definitely wasn't Lisa Loeb, I watched it last night - sad thing is I have absolutely no clue what the song was!
