Trump said the US (and by default the UK) would be gone by July 2020 by the timetable he agreed with the Taleban.
That deadline was missed and western forces actually left in September, 3 months later.
To say we left ‘overnight’ is just fake news. Trump announced leaving 18 months previously in February 2020.

The previous administration had agreed to fully withdraw troops from Afghanistan by May 1, 2021, in exchange for the Taliban agreeing not to attack U.S. troops and to cut ties with al-Qaeda and other international terrorist groups. The Biden administration reneged on the Trump deal by extending the Afghan war by four months, before again changing the date for troop withdrawal to August 31. There was a planned, organised, withdrawel in place but Biden refused to follow his predecessors advisers or the logistics timetable. After criticism by the press about missing the planned deadline the fool panicked and issued orders to flee. Billions of dollars worth of equipment and loyal helpers were abandoned. Shame on him. Facts never did stop the marxists and far left from mixing up the truth with their fictional accounts.
