I'm doing the crossword from my village in Scotland and I'm stuck on the last clue. 'Old boy ends in garden centre' *A*IES I'm not sure whether it's the name of a local garden centre.

I thik that Toorak has the best suggestion so far. His parsing is feasible.
I was also thinking of Dobbies but too many letters
I agree about dobies
^ they're in Devon
I agree with Dobies too - OB in Dies
^
They operate throughout the UK.
That is, I totally agree with Toorak's parse.
Could be some garlic word none of us has ever heard of.

Well done, everyone - I thought Dobies (in Glasgow) had two bbs. The 'o' comes from 'Present fight welcome at Christmas' I thought it was GIFT TAG, but it's obviously GIFT *O* Ah, GIFT BOX!
spicey, did you mean Gaelic?
Gift Box
Glad someone solved it for you.
Dobbie’s does have 2 bs - I think it is a setter’s error

Toorak, see my link on page 1. Dobies does exist.
Dobie’s looks like an online supplier of plants whereas Dobbie’s is is a chain of garden centres originating in Scotland. I think the setter got them confused.
Perhaps. Main thing is longefoy now has the correct answer :-)
