You're either male or female, end of. Anything else you need psychiatric help.
Why are some people so obsessed with gender? Does it really impact on your life, apart from scaring you about your own identity?
I'd love to hear an honest answer to my post. Is there anyone able to be open about this?
Perhaps we should just show a picture of our genitals and prove the match on demand.

Or an emoji of either a rooster or a cat?
Self identify as a dog and have a picture of Rover even, and bark at the passport checkers. That would work well in Saudi if you want your name in the obituary columns.
Its a bit like a corpulent, aging woman identifying as a size 8, 20-something model.... trying to be something you are not.

You are either male, female, or in rare cases (about 1 in 6 million or thereabouts), both. You are never neither or something completely bonkers and made up.
1 in 6 million, have you got a link for that LadyCG as that would mean only 1000 intersex approx in the world
Okay, Atheist...

//Why are some people so obsessed with gender? Does it really impact on your life, apart from scaring you about your own identity//

It does not impact upon my life, nor am I obsessed with gender (au contraire, I am comfortable in my own gender) and I'm certainly not scared about my own identity.

I am a woman. I was born a woman. I continue to be a woman, anatomically, physically, emotionally, biologically... I will never attempt to be something I am not in order to be "relevant" in this day and age. It's time this pathetic nonsense stopped.
There you have it.

You have a box to tick and quite rightly so, some are denied that option.
They are not denied the option. They have a box but don't want to tick it.
Estimates vary, depending partly on what counts as "intersex" and what doesn't. But a common lower bound I've seen is around 0.02%, or close to 1 in 5,000, ie 1,000 times more numerous than LadyCG's figure. Since this itself is probably too low, perhaps even by an order of magnitude, I can only assume that LadyCG's statistic is based on a far narrower definition than usual.
A decade on, still relevant.

Still, to an extent it's irrelevant: the question here is whether gender identity should be recorded on a passport, rather than sex as recorded on the birth certificate. If no intersex people existed at all, the question would still be valid.
But if you have both male and female parts why should you put “male” or “female” on a passport? It can only be a lie.

Are you suggesting that because you are happy in your birth gender, everyone else must be too? Are you medically (or ever psychologically) trained in order to be sure gender identity is "pathetic nonsense"? If you are, I'd be interested to find out a professional reason for your opinion, as I do not know much about other folks issues in such areas.
Lady CG; why do you consider people who are not like you as pathetic? Again, I would really appreciate a reply.
