i have been advised to try it on my knees, as i have acute pain in both. Did it help at all?
I have had a X ray which has shown up Arthritis which i already knew i had but the pain is off the chart now. I can't take codeine because of side effects, but was told by GP to try the Voltarol and see if it helps.

neither - it's a pain relief one (supposedly)

its a gel, but doesn't get hot or particularly cold

i will give it 7 days, and if no joy then so be it.
BTW - if you have any tendency to using herbal remedies you might try massaging with Wintergreen Oil or ointment.
Hi Emmie, sorry to come late for this, it aint always easy...I tried the voltorol, but couldn't stand the fumes! I then discovered Capsacin (?) and am now on Zacin, which works fine for my Arthritis, mainly for hands I have to add, but should try it on my knees too I guess. It is prescription only, but could be well worth looking into...I don't know if anyone has mention Zacin earlier in this thread and I hope the spelling is okay too! Very Best of Luck with this...should have said Zacin is a cream and shouldn't affect other meds if you take them.
emmie - I asked neighbour about that gel she gave me years ago but couldn't remember - but she is also riddled with arthritis, new hip and new knee.

she likes this -

Zacin is a cream containing capsaicin Woodelf, which has been mentioned and helps quite a lot of people.
Jenny, does it work for her?? Gives pain relief???
she said she buys it - mind you - she is on a cocktail of drugs - one or two of them are Tramadol - she absolutely swears by them.

She of course gets them on prescription. But she has always sworn by them.
