medicine (pills) on aeroplane

i have prescribed medicine in pill form, in blister packs, but no longer have the prescription. will i be able to take them on the aeroplane in either my hand or hold luggage?

There should be no problem. Prescribed medicines, which are not in liquid form, are allowed in both cabin baggage and in the hold. It's only liquids which have some restrictions:

Pills are fine. I just got back from the states and I had calming tablets and headache tablets in my hand luggage. I had no problems getting through security at all with them.
