Just a hint, from personal experience, when things are a little sore in that area:
I use normal toilet paper but, once the main task has been completed, I dip a bit of loo roll into a tub of aqueous cream and give a final wipe over with that. It seems to help quite a lot and, with a big (half litre) tub of supermarket own-brand aqueous cream typically costing around four quid, it would cost you very little indeed to give it a try.
