Live At The Apollo Last Night, Call That Comedy?
8 Answers
We decided to watch it after a few drinks and a nice meal while waiting to watch the firework display outside. Well the so called comedians were not funny at all. It was all done through the prism of left wing opinion and identity politics. The audience however seemed to think it was hilarious, laughing and clapping when some right on opinion was voiced. These people in that theatre must come from a different planet to us normal folk. I live in Yorkshire and I take it they were all Londoners. Oh to bring back the great comedians of the 70s who used to make us belly laugh.

As in all art, there are many and various styles out there, you simply have to seek out the ones that appeal, and avoid the ones that don't.
I'm with you about the 'Apollo' comedians, I have watched clips of several and found them utterly un-funny, but I know they are not aiming their work at someone of my age and generation, and I accecpt that.

You're getting old(er), dave. I thought the comedians of the 70s were hilarious - my parents didn't find most of the younger comedians even vaguely funny and they couldn't stomach most of the new style comedians of the 80s.
We all loved Jasper Carrott and none of us laughed at Danny La Rue, apart from my granny.
I'm thankful tastes change, otherwise we'd be stuck with old mother Riley and Ray Allen with his hand up Lord Charles' bottom
