It Seems Like The Latest Omicron Virus Is Like Getting A Bad Cold
So why all the panicking, testing and isolating? Yes people might pass this cold on but so what? We never tried to enforce isolation in the past when people were spreading a cold virus. This unnecessary obsession with public health safety should stop.

I dont - I am the beacon of.... sensibleness or something
BUT I admit that I see a statement - - say - "there is too much testing for covid, and if they tested less...."
which is illogical and stupid
and I impishly think, change a word or two - - a 'for' to a 'then' - nothing much
and it now reads so profoundly gormless that even the author will blush and gasp "even I wdnt say that!" and then feverishly go back over his pensees and wise words...
to see if that particular blunder was his....

Testing? To see if you've got it.
Isolating? To reduce the rate of transmission. Remember the R number? If the R number is above 1, the virus will eventually go through the entire population, which is fine (for most people, with this mild a virus). If the R number is way above 1, the speed at which the virus goes through the entire population is much greater, meaning that at any one time a bigger number of people is infected. And then a small percentage of that big number is still a big number, big enough to overwhelm some parts of the system. Which is why you are seeing various health authorities declaring "critical incidents":
