me too Dtc, have a good day...
Morning everyone. Not too bad thanks Minty, still a bit breathless after that 'super cold' I had. Interestingly I had a cortisone injection in my knee a couple of years ago but was told by this physio that they don't do them any more. One physio says walk with a stick another says don't use a stick - very confusing
take it easy Margo... xx
I must admit I have been able to put off surgery with lots of exercises and walking, I get to a point where the more I do the less pain I get but it takes about three weeks relying on strong painkillers to get there. Quad strengthening at least three times a day is enough to keep my knee stable and the pain down to a dull ache most of the time.
having had knee replacements on both sides myself, 12 weeks seems an awfully long estimate. "total" recovery took me about 6 months (before my leg didnt feel it belonged to someone else) but the replaced knee was significantly better than the old one had been about 3 weeks in.
If 4 flights of stairs is a problem at the beginning then get in and stay there till they are more manageable. I had an upstairs loo and was going up and down stairs several times a day on crutches
