If this news article is to be believed (it must be true it’s in the Daily Mail), this government mandarin is being set-up as the fall guy for the illegal meetings in 2020 in Downing Street.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10382743/Top-mandarin-runs-Boris-Johnsons-private-office-lined-fall-guy-Partygate.html

Someone should tell Boris that this won’t wash – as someone in attendance at those meetings; is he going to say ‘Oh, I was invited to attend those meetings (and did so) but as Prime Minister I had no idea such meetings were illegal/against government advice?’

How dare they treat us in the way they have.
quite so, gness. The date means nothing to me, but there will be so many who were observing the government's rules.
I wonder if Boris Johnson's principal private secretary, Martin Reynolds, will be granted a knighthood at some point in the future for his party-organising skills. Does anybody know what Sir Humphrey Appleby did to earn his?
