Too broad a question to answer, some organisations are very poor at responding to complaints - others are better.
A bit like "Our lines are very busy at the moment" No they`re not it's just that they have got rid of half of the staff and there is hardly anyone to answer the phone.

It just seems well over used now to the point it don't mean begger all.
"your call is important to us. so we're going to keep you on hold until your call is no longer important to you"
Too many use generic scripts rather than encourage individuality within their organisation, that is a let down.
Put it on Trustpilot, the company i work for go ape if someone gets a bad review.
I once got a message saying "Pleas enter zero to speak to a representative", so I pressed 0 and got a message saying "You have entered an invalid number"!:)
How did they pronounce "invalid"?

Just to clarify, I've not got a problem / complaint., but have listened to other peoples complaints and they all seem to get fobbed of with the same line, that is until someone with some clout gets involved, then everything is sorted in no time at all.
Right, thank god, you are now prepared if you do have a complaint.
