what exactly are the different jobs of prime minister and president in countries such as france and israel that have both?

prime minister is in UK is the head of government but not the head of state....thats lizzie's job.

the irish example........prime minister is head of govenment, president is head of state and nowt directly to do with the making of laws etc

USA the president is head of government and head of state

I think it depends on what system each country prefers but I could be wrong......it has been known.....lol
There are so many differences, both large and small, that you would be best reading a textbook on Constitutional Law for our PM's jobs and rights. Equally, a book on the American political system should do the job. It took a whole term of law lectures on Prime Ministerial responsibility and powers that it wouldnt all fit on here. Sorry I'm not of more use...
