BT are very expensive.

Look for a different supplier.
34 Mbp is plenty fast enough
plusnet is about the cheapest - I have talktalk £23.95 pm.
I agree with Hoppy, Martin Lewis was on about this on his show last week, either haggle with them and threaten to leave or do as Hoppy suggests go to a comparison site and see what’s the best supplier out there JJ
What services are you currently getting from BT, JJ? Landline/broadband/tv?
Plusnet are much cheaper than BT.

Who owns Plusnet? BT!
as barry saya, it's probably better for advice if you tell us what services you want to use.
Do you use your landline? do you want internet? do you have a tv package with them?

right,

ok, I get free calls for as long as I want - on landline.

I pay £2 a month for International Family and friends calls - which I could talk to American friend for an hour and it would be around £3.00 for that hour

Yes, I also get Broadband - basically everything except TV - TV is Sky

hopefully thats ok of an answer. As you would know I am only looking for a good quick output of Fibre.

^^^^ also offers free mobile phonecalls as long as in UK and for as long to want to talk
As you already have Sky TV see what they can do for phone and broadband
Question Author
Barry as you know phone calls needs to be made and I just can't hear them. I will stay with BT as they are a little dear but I don't want to haggle as - they say - is 34mbp a good quick enough fibre - thanks

PS - my friend has had the most horrendous time of contacting Sky about the height of prices. Took laryngitis at the screams of her.

Had exactly the same trouble with BT, laryngitis (bad tempered) then god knows whatever - tobh - with all that she told me I couldn't even tell you the hell she is with.

So I will leave well alone for a couple of more pounds extra
You have confused me. You would use the same phone in the same way regardless of whether you are with BT or Sky.

thanks Barry - my phones are connected to a series of gadgets for the deaf, lights that flash when the phone is ringing. Special phone for the deaf with super amplification.

Also Portable light - ie I can bring it out to garden etc if phone is ringing

But years ago i changed to Talk Talk and I said never again - as I think BT are responsible for the lines and they kept making the flashes flash every second - burning the bulbs - I'm staying where I am Barry.
