Hi, JJ.

Just wanted to tell you that I now have my new hearing aids and I am delighted with them.

One of the brilliant things about them is that they are connected, via Bluetooth, to my mobile phone. There fore when I have a phone call, I do not have to put the phone to my ear as all the sound comes via the hearing aids. I know you have trouble with hearing on the phone, that's why I'm telling you about these.

Oh right Tilly - that's great they work like that - OMG - haven't things moved on.

Unfortunately Tilly I don't have a mobile phone (it's only used for like buying something online and they need a number etc). It is very old and so there would be no bluetooth (If I knew what bluetooth is LOL)

PS Tilly upon reading your post - I can't hear on the mobile phones - I get very nervous and when that happens the hearing goes completely.

Secondly the aids wouldn't be "strong" enough to work for me as over the years I was offered cochlear implants - my deafness is too profound.

I am delighted for you and hope they continue to do so. good luck with them. x

You could always get a more up to date phone. :-)

Anyway, I have over 50% hearing loss in both ears and these aids are an absolute pleasure to wear.

Thanks for your best wishes. I'm sure I'll be fine with them.
Fantastic, Tilly....you'll hear the birdsong now....if we ever get over to Rutland again...x
Yes a colleague of mine years remarked how sad it was for me not to be able to hear birdsong. I was telling my sister and she laughed - sometimes too early in the morning they put my head away. Not a morning person you see. LOL

You are so right, Gness. I actually heard a buzzard mewing today. I've ever heard one before. I am so happy with my new ears!
I actually didn't realise just what a racket some birds make. The sparrows sounded as if they were 'fighting' in the hedgerow this morning.
Wonderful, Tilly. Wait til the buzzard is calling for and training the young. Spent hours on the patio in the UK listening to them and the Red Kites. News is we have a Glossy Ibis on the estuary here. May have to spend hours at the estuary!

I hope you get to see it, Gness. They seem to be quite rare.
Good luck...and take a flask of your favourite, warming drink when you go mooching around the estuary. x
Hi Tilly this is going to be long-winded

- when I went to my IT class yesterday - it is only a lady who comes in voluntarily and so I have been lucky in getting one-to-one information re the Ipad.

Anyway she was telling me she wore 2 hearing aids having had mastoid trouble in her 40s maybe. She is the first person I have heard of having mastoid damage to her ear (which caused my deafness) when I was born - but also she was crucified with you know painful, pus, etc etc TMI coming out of her ears during that time.

Thank God I just was deaf and never encountered all the above stuff - like sore ears etc.

Anyway when her and I were on the Ipads - she turned on a Talkback feature on the Ipads eg - now I could hear a female speaking but didn't understand a word, she could hear word for word and actually was astonished that I could not hear the female.

Like yourself she said something her hearing aids are bluetoothed to her smartphone and she hears fantastic.

Things have moved on so much so I have made an appointment for February for an appointment with Boots audiologist.

LOL - I don't have a smartphone and never wanted one but if this helps me - I would just get a cheapie just to get it linked to the aids.

Have a nice day. Tilly - I'm getting all excited now LOL
