Printer Ink Cartridge Help

I have a Canon TS3150 and at the time I did not know how much ink I absorbed in printing a very long insurance document.

Also printing a very colourful photo of my friend's 15 grandchildren.

So both inks run out very quickly.

I ordered an ink cartridge from InknToner and just this week since I had no ink left either colour or black - I inserted this cartridge. All I have printed with "new" cartridge was a Barcode and it is now coming up saying that I have no ink at all and to contact Canon regarding buying a new cartridge etc which are very expensive.

I know Chris (Buenchico) advised about things like this but obviously I got this wrong.

What's next - anybody's help - thanks

Turn your printer on, so that the 'ink empty' message is showing.

Look for the 'Stop/Reset' button on your printer. (It's a red, downward-pointing, triangle inside a red circle).

Hold it down for about 5 or 6 seconds, until the message disappears. That should disable the ink monitor which, due to a poor quality cartridge, is telling you that there's no ink left (even though there's plenty in the cartridge).

You should then be able to print normally again.

God Chris you're a wee genius - printed at last.

I don't print much - like barcodes or labels so hopefully this cartridge should do me for a while.

Thank you. x
Thanks for that, Buenchico, I didn't realize that the red stop button was also a reset...And thank,s JJ, for posting the question.

Er Sanmac - don't thank me - I'm a dopehead regarding these technical matters. LOL
Well, JJ, I was thanking you because if you hadn't asked the question I wouldn't have leaned the other function of the "stop" button. Anyway, we both learned something from the resident expert.
This seems to be a minefield area - my print software has been telling me I'm "low ink" for months now, but my Canon printer still goes on printing page after page after page quite satisfactorily.

Sanmac - any questions you have sweetheart - just you come to me - NOT - LOL

yes the techies on here are great

Yes Canary - I got that too and was able to continue to print but the cartridge was Canon and that definitely run its course.

When I inserted the poor quality cartridge - I couldn't get it to print.
