Any Couples Sleep Separately??
34 Answers
I go and sleep in the spare room so often now that I might as well be in there !
I get so hot at night in bed that I have to have the ceiling fan on, even tho our bedroom radiator is turned off and already cool, and even tho I hardly wear anything, I’m still always boiling hot , so much so that I cannot get a wink of sleep without the fan on. But after a while MrSnow admitted he absolutely hated it on. So I started trying to persevere with the fan on but just couldnt cope with being so hot, so I would start the night in our bed, but after an hour or so I would end up going into spare room where there is a huge pedestal fan, and I would finally get some much needed sleep. Now I end up in there most nights.
I suspect that this extreme being hot is largely down to what I assume is me going thru the menopause but whether it is or not we still have completely different sleeping preferences now - he hates the fan in and I need it on.
I just always feel bad going into a separate room, even tho I know that’s silly to think that.
Anyone else sleep separately a lot from their OH?

An ex from over 20 years ago moved into mine and I found it really difficult to fall asleep because of his snoring and constant moving about. We had a double so I bought a king size in the hope that it would solve one of the problems but it didn't so he slept in the spare room. Had the same issue with little Tigs's dad but he would only stay round at weekends till he decided he didn't want me anymore and went off with someone else!
You don't have to share a bed to have Sex Sqad!
Actually we have spent lot of time not sleeping together. He worked on night shifts a lot, I went on holidays on my own quite a lot and both have attended a lot of courses away from home. I admit I sleep much better alone. We have never gone to bed at the same time unless ............ I need much more sleep then him. Sometimes he's downstairs reading way into the night.

I'm not a 'couple' so this doesn't apply to me, although my lovely dog would be welcome to share my bed if she wants - she doesn't ! I have a good friend who has been married for years and for the majority of those her and her husband have slept in separate rooms. She would prefer to sleep with him, but he prefers to sleep alone !
