Possibly - "in area " - change the N for a W and you have Ware in the clue

Acle is a small market town on the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads in Norfolk, located halfway between Norwich and Great Yarmouth

I flipping well looked at Acle, but kept using NSEW rather than RL! I even know Acle, I stayed there for a week! Thanks!
