Internet explorer windows maximised

How can I make new internet explorer windows open maximised? I have ticked the maximise option so that the first window always loads maximised, but all subsequent windows are not (e.g. if a link opens in a new window).

No, that's not what I meant I'm afraid. I know how to maximise the window once its loaded, but I want it to open full screen, whereas I have to click the button in the top right each time.

I'd click on the middle "restore" button on the first window that's open and rather than maximising it to make it the full screen size, move the window to the top left of your monitor and then drag & resize the bottom right of this window manually to make it as big as possible. I tend to find that any links opened from this window are this "restore" size, so I make it as big as possible.

Whatever button you click on to load I-Explorer to begin with, right click, choose properties and change "Normal" to "Maximised" and this first window will be maximised when you load it.

Are either of these 2 what you mean?

Oh and that maximises it to full screen. if you want to adjust the size to something more you're liking like a normal maximised view, follow this link http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/archive/topi
c/8465-1.html What it says: Start IE, right click any link on a web page, and select Open in a New Window. Go back to the first IE window you opened and close it. Return to the second window and manually drag it to fill the screen. (Do not use the maximize button, for that's a temporary setting that will not be retained.) Now press the Ctrl button, and close this second window, holding the Ctrl button depressed, using 'close' in the File menu (important!). All windows should now open maximized.

Thanks for the further advice. I don't mean fully maximised, just the maximised you get when you click the middle top right button, as you guessed. My windows now open *almost* full screen after following that last tip but it still really bugs me that they are not the same as if you click that top middle button. Maybe there's no solution...

To say more to stevie, I have achieved what you described in both your paragraphs, but I want the subsequent windows to 'restore' in the same way as the first ones do (as described in your second para) rather than just as large as I can drag it (as described in your 1st para).

I found that opening a window, maximising it then closing it and repeating this process a few times solved the problem. thats xp though, it might be diferent for different os's.
