As a child, in the late 1920's, I visited the ruins of a farm, in South Northumberland, where my grandfather was born. The farm, or smallholding, was called "BOLISHER". No article fronting the name, apparently. Can anyone throw any light on the name and its origin? I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Many thanks SteveD. I have that one and the site is indicated on the lastest 'STREETMAP'. Another interesting aspect of the 1864 map is the "Electric Telegraph" to the East of Bolisher almost on the route of the present A68. Thanks again.
