Why do animal rights people protest at preforming circus animals , and yet they do nothing to get horse racing and horse trials banned? Horses are killed every year preforming these tasks, but has anyone ever heard of a circus animal being killed?

And by the way...there is quite a lot of protest at such as the Grand National which is the branch of horse racing which pretty dangerous compared with merely running round a grass track..........again IMO.

You are completely wrong in your question. Some Animal Welfare people do try to get horse racing banned. I suggest you research a little further before making statements.
What are YOU going to do about it if you are so concerned??? I have found one major animal welfare campiging group's website here as an example.

Why all the anger jedimistress have I hit upon some kind of raw nerve or is it just in your nature to be a rude and abrupt person you appear to be. Just chill out and accept this site for what it is, a great site for finding out things and joining in general discussions. I was only asking a question, because I recently heard of a horse being killed and no one appeared to be at all concerned, yet a few days later there was a news item about the banning of circus animals.
Agree with commoner, whilst some of us do disagree with horse racing and horse trials, we find circus's more unpalatable due to them using wild animals.
Also we are lead to believe that race horses are kept to the best possible standard when stabled, too much money involved to mistreat them, whereas we all know that circus animals are kept in appalling conditions out of the public eye.

Actually, there is a circus doing the rounds in our area at present which has a lot of horses and ponies, and whenever I have driven past the sites they are performing at they are always exercising or feeding the horses. They would not work well if they were not treated right. Same with the shows that are purely horse based, like Spirit of the Horse. Anyone who knows horses will tell you that these horses are treated brilliantly and are in fabulous condition.
You can go round the stables after the shows, and meet the horses and the staff that look after them.
