Unfortunately it probably is, Prudie. Many people have utterly lost their marbles over the last two years. Not entirely their fault. The government’s medics and behavioural scientists have ensured that much of the population has become compliant to their wishes and lost the ability to think for themselves.
A month ago the government removed the requirement to wear face coverings in England. This announcement was accompanied by apocalyptic warnings of thousands of additional infections, hospitalisations and deaths. Since that date daily infections are down 63%, daily deaths are down 59% and numbers in hospital are down almost 40%. None of these show any sign of increasing despite the “irresponsible” move to remove the mask mandate. Last week the requirement to self-isolate following a positive Covid test and similar prophesies of impending doom were made. This is a result of the psychological “conditioning” of the population that has been undertaken over the past two years. Extreme caution was the name of the game and today, a month after the face covering mandate was ditched, large numbers of people are still roaming around masked up. This is despite the fact that Covid now presents no greater threat than any one of a number of infectious respiratory diseases that abound.
So we move to this question. The Ukranians are fleeing for their lives following their country’s invasion by forces which far outnumber their own. If they stay their very lives are in peril. What does somebody ask here? “Where are their face masks?” Indelibly ingrained in the psyche of many of the population is that Covid remains the overwhelming threat which must be abated above all others – even the invasion by heavily armed foreign forces. The government’s behaviour unit has certainly done a good job. "Don't forget to wear your face mask. Just because you have bombs and rockets aimed at your Aris, you still can’t be too careful."

the same old lies never die - people already recognised that masks didnt work, ( first lock down) and the reason for the plummeting figures was efficient vaccination - -

Did they Peter? So why are so many still wearing them, a month after they were no longer compulsory (and nearly two years after the first lock down you mention)? Why did some old nutcase remonstrate with me just a few days ago because I wasn't wearing one on the train?
