That's fine. So don't bother then.
Well, you have closed all your avenues off then - good luck.
To be fair, nailit, your comment "Been on them a week" could have applied to the meds or the cramps. When anyone is asking for help or advice it probably pays to be not quite so tetchy.

I can see the response that ^ will get, but think about it. Should it be the meds there are many alternatives to Amlodopine. Pursue it because high BP is not called a silent killer for nothing.

Contact your surgery and I hope they can sort it for you.
I have checked the leaflet with my amlodipine.

This lists some side effects where you should contact your doctor immediately, but your symptoms aren't mentioned.

There is then a list of very common side effects (more than one in ten people)
It says if any of these cause you problems or if they last for more than a week, you should contact your doctor.

Abdominal pain is on that list.

It is therefore right for you to contact the doctor, and he or she will probably change you to a different medication. I believe they have several options.

I agree with what others have said. If you want good service from the doctor, try to hold back on the aggressive and critical tone you have shown here. They are only human.
Stomach cramps and bleeding? I wouldn't ignore that
I hadn't noticed your other thread about bleeding. Barry is right, you need to talk it through with a doctor urgently. The amlodipine might have nothing to do with the abdominal pain.
--nailit--- You have to try to calm down. You've only been on this medication for a week but even so don't stop taking it without the doctor's say so. We don't know what your dosage is. Telephone the surgery first thing in the morning and tell them how you feel and see if the doctor can give you an alternative drug. In the meantime try a cup of warm milk when you take your next amlodipine. You may have been irritating your empty stomach lining if you took it with water. Try a few spoons of chicken soup and curl up on the couch with a hot water bottle.
Good advice from andres ^^^^
Thanks Sqad. ^^
Been taking it for years (hypertension). Never had any noticeable side effects.

Just re-read this thread.
I can only ask for apologies.
Going through so much at the mo....
My new meds seem to suit (Ramipril)
Amlodopine seems to have been the cause of stomach cramps.
Thank you to all that responded.

Sorry for any replies from myself that wern't exactly appreciative.
(Im a dick, I know)
I was and am on 5mg of Amlopidine and 2 of Ramipril.

Some time ago when I was on 10mg of Amlopidine - found side effects as in swollen ankles - on the dot of 8 pm. Now I'm down to a lower dosage - it has made all the difference. No swelled ankles at 8pm LOL
