Mature entry to teaching or nursing ...

If i am mid thirties and looking for a complete career change is it realistic to think I could get into teaching ? I have no A levels just 2 GCSE and an o level ... does enthusiasum count ??!! And what about nursing ... ?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You could possibly get onto a Diploma of Higher Education Nursing course with your O-Level and GCSEs, although I think Maths would need to be one of them. They may ask if you have any relevant experience (auxiliary work etc.) too though.
Not sure about teaching, but I thought the usual route was a degree in teaching itself, or a first degree then a post-graduate PGCE. You could maybe try a job as a teaching assistant first to see if you actually like it, the same with nursing and a care assistant job first?

Teaching requires a university degree. There are various paths to get there but there are some essentials, such as qualifications in mathematics, which you must have first.
