pdf documents font

Is there a standard font for pdf docs and if so does anyone know what the font is. I am using a pdf editor but cannot match the font to the one in the document

No, there isn't a standard font.

You can create a document in word using any font you like and then convert it to a .pdf document, the font will remain the same as whatever you used to create it.
