how do you use two computers through the same broadband connection? im not up on these things but my daughter wants to be able to use her laptop in her bedroom, and i dont know where to start?

You then need to get the appropriate type of router.
I would recommend linksys or netgear.
The cable type of router is easier to install, as it does not require any username/password details, the ADSL type of router does.
But with both types, wireless security is important, at least you will need to set encryption on your wireless connection.

A patch cable is a fairly thick cable with a plug on either end that you plug into the network card on both PCs to form a network, saves u buying routers, hubs etc and a lot easier to set up, �30 for 15 mtrs in PC world I bought mine �30 for 30mtrs in local PC shop. Mine is set up this way, the only disadvantage is the PC with the incoming Internet connection will need to be up and running for the second PC to connect to the Internet.
