sorry for going on a bit but when I looked at a statement of all my payments that the receptionist sent me instead of the breakdown of price of yesterdays work, I saw that I had paid £120 for numbing and extraction of two teeth last year.

So do think it a bit much to be charged £230 for "woozy" which didn't work.

I have sent an email to the receptionist in question querying this - do you think it was a good idea?

Know they will say something - oh because of prices have gone up or Covid - but hey £230 is some sort of a jump.

NHS scale 2 charge £62. That included initial check up.

Just an update - I am getting a £250 goodwill refund from dentist.

According to receptionist - he said he only gave me 10% sedation as I was without a chaperone - that's where I thought it never worked.

Don't know about that - how do you explain trying 4 times to get the sedation in. Anyway am glad about the money - it'll go to my fuel bill
I commend excellent modern practice - dental chair sedation with a chaperone present

I agree PP - but he didn't emphasise the chaperone - just allowed me to go home in a taxi. Nah - he is not an expert on anaesthesia nor was his mate who has been doing it for 9 years (or so he says)
My dentist doesn't do cleaning. You have to see a hygienist, £35. You were quite lucky SparklyKid.
My hygienist appointment costs £50.50!
I hope you've found a dentist you can trust, JJ.
Am very pleased about the refunded JJ - they seemed very swift in offering it hence they probably knew deep down they’d overcharged. Anyway, well done x
