Russia born Lubov Chernukhin. She donated over £2 million to the Conservative Party between April 2012 and April 2020, making her the largest female political contributor in British history. In 2007, she married Vladimir Chernukhin, former deputy minister of finance and former chairman of Russian state development corporation Vnesheconombank.

London born Martin Taylor is a British investor and hedge fund manager. His father was a Labour Councillor and he has donated £600,000 to the Labour Party.
He closed the Nevsky fund 7 years ago after the Russian invasion of Crimea resulted in sanctions and the Russian economy tanking. He handed the $1.5 billion funds money back to its investors.

You really believe a British hedge fund manager and Putin’s finance minister are comparable ?

He is not Russian. He was born in Lewisham.

He previously had Russian investments, but he closed them after the Russian economy tanked saying he couldn’t make any money there. It is even debatable whether he made any money to donate to Labour from his Nevsky fund.

I don’t think Labour should be accepting donations from a hedge fund registered in the Cayman islands, but Chernukhin‘s money is also overseas.
