We think we have finished this puzzle, but can't parse one answer. The wordplay has one superfluous letter, and we would dearly like it to be an 'i':
15d Upset archbishop is associated with this writer's sort of philosophy (7)
we think the answer is dualism, but can't get the 'i' we need

Like you I don't particularly like it -- but "I'm" must be "associated with this writer". Dualism is correct and that is the only way to get the "I" to be the superfluous letter

Geevo there is another part to the puzzle and all the superfluous letters spell the action that needs to be taken
The other letters spell "erasespl_tdevils"
Whereas "my" and "me" are better than "i'm" the superfluous letter must be an i to make sense
Erase split Devils - and if you see the position of the "devils" you would understand it has to be an "I".
