Hi! I vaguely remember some details from a book I read as a child (in the 80's). The details are scant I'm afraid but I'd be over the moon if I could find the book and read it again so here goes... It was set on the British coast somewhere, with caves. The main characters were children, and some or one of them experienced 'ghost writing', where she/he held the pen but a ghost wrote thru them. There was a big flood, and a group had to take shelter/escape thru some of the caves, with great danger. I can remember families (one I think lived in an old inn?) having to hide upstairs in their homes. I can't remember the relevence but some very old guns were found behing someone's chimney too. Oh, I hope someone can remember it, I'd love to read it again! Thanks in advance! Kirsty

Don't know about the ghost writing bit but it could be "The Secret of Spiggey Holes" by Enid Blyton. Try googling this and see if you can find a synopsis of the story.
Yeah, having read your post, it sounds really familiar to me too! Like jessiedog says, there's a fair chance it could be enid blyton, because i read masses of her books as a child, so that could be a lead for you to follow? Sorry I can't be of more help - will give it some thought!
Hi and thanks for the help, but I still can't find out what book it is.
I'm fairly certain that it isn't an Enid Blyton, it was for an older reader I think, and prob not very good really (but I liked it)
Ho hum, I'll keep trying
Thanks again
