What a surprise!

How can Russia ever be included in the family of civilised countries. I think they should be expelled from the UN.

The issue isn't that Russia has invaded another country.
It's that the UN is currently hamstrung by their presence as a permanent member of the security council, so that rather than talk of expelling them from the UN, which would be rather pointless, removing them from that would be more practical.
It isn't likely to happen though

It would not be other council members that would expel Russia but the UN as a whole.
Moral authority is not a power that can be wielded (thank goodness).

Anyway, it's not something that would be high on the list of proprities.

unlike the Commonwealth, nobody's ever been expelled from the UN as far as I know. I don't think it's a starter.

The recent UN vote condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was carried but not unanimously. These nations did not support the resolution…

I thought it was disappointing that so many countries abstained in that vote.

Meanwhile Ukrainian forces have now surrounded Russian counterparts in Hostomel, Bucha and Irpin, the three towns immediately to the NW of Kyiv.
Last night on Russian TV some highly optimistic debate was to be had about land corridors to Kaliningrad.
