Ball Room Blitz by The Sweet has been one of my favorite songs since I bought a copy when I were still in short trouser's around 50 years ago. I played it to death over the years. Then last week at a family do I heard a cover version by Sophie Ellis Baxter of all people which sounded okay (not as good as The Sweets version of course).... but for the first time ever it struck me that part of the song sound's just like The Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Show. Can anyone else see what I mean?

"Trouserses"? (sorry from another pedant).
Since you haven't provided a link, I shall put my musician ears into action and listen to a version found on Youtube and give my verdict shortly thereafter.
I have to admit that she gets on my t!t somewhat, but I shall try not to be biased.
When did Fiddlers Dram have a No1 hit in the UK?
Yes I can hear a parallel ...
It's so dreamy, oh fantasy free me (Time Warp)
And the music was soothing
And they all started grooving (The Sweet)
JimF ..when you observed it.

I was never that keen on Sweet until i (quite begrudgingly) accompanied 3 friends to Hamburg's Music Halle in the mid 70s to see them live. There i was introduced to some of their 'B' side material, the stuff that never got airplay. And i enjoyed most of them, particularly the above number.

Pedants should remember that sometimes autocorrect changes what one typed.

The inventor of autocorrect died recently. Restaurant in peace.
On the other hand, as an 8 year old I loved "Little Willy" and "Wigwam Bam" ..then there was Coco. RIP Brian Connolly and Steve Priest.
The Sweet was probably the first band I liked as a nipper.
