I've never lived in Birmingham (though I knew Wolverhampton quite well) but if I had to return to Blighty & live in a city, I would choose it before Sadiq Khan's, Londonistan, any day.

What must have brought it to life again in the media, is an essay in the 'Afterthoughts' slot of the Times Literary Supplement (Feb 18th) entitled, 'Sophocles in Birmingham', that's where I read about it. I think it's worth watching if only for the above lady flashing her knickers! :0)

Lot of interesting shops in digbeth, the pubs aren't great though. Born and raised a Londoner I only go back when I have to. I love being an adopted Brummie.
