EasyJet and BA have cancelled hundreds of flights.
// EasyJet expects to cancel hundreds more flights this week due to high levels of Covid-19 among its crew, amid wider disruption at airports and Channel ports at the start of the Easter holidays.
The removal of virtually all coronavirus restrictions has brought a surge in passengers wishing to travel – but exacerbated staff shortages in the aviation industry through rising sickness. //
So much for saving the economy by pretending the pandemic is over.

" - err just going by your continual desires expressed on here everyday. You love the whole pandemic episode and pray for it to get worse so you can quote cherry picked figures at us. China seems to be the obvious place for you. Then you quote government figures without ever acknowledging that they are mainly due to the pandemic. You then back the Labour party 100% and ignore any difficult questions regarding how they would have managed any differently. If I'm "blithering idiot" - I've done rather well with it me old china.
Surely we should all be glad that we no longer have these restrictions imposed? Many of which were pointless anyway (many weren't). Actually the travel restrictions were among the most pointless, and I agree that it is ironic that they appear to be reappearing in a different way (!)
Self-imposed restrictions now is surely still the way to go for those that wish.

// EasyJet cancelled about 30 flights at Gatwick Airport on Wednesday.
Thousands of holidaymakers have seen their Easter getaways - the first holiday since the end of Covid travel restrictions - delayed or cancelled because airlines and airports do not have enough staff to meet the recovery in demand.
Staff shortages have led to passengers having to face long delays at security and check-in at some airports, with travellers complaining of "chaos".
Problems at Manchester Airport led to Karen Smart, the airport's managing director, announcing on Tuesday that she would stand down. //

The Blame has to be with Boris and his Con Party.
Boris removed all covid restrictions to try and keep him in a job. Once again Covid is spreading like wildfire throughout the UK ,and Boris couldnt give a fig.
"Let the bodies pile high" Boris once said.
He can start introducing Restriction again now because Putin has saved his job .

Yes, we know that. But what is your point? Who are you blaming for this? What do you believe "they" (and please explain who they are) should have done to prevent it happening? How do you think (whatever that is) it would have helped? We know what has happened. We have different views on why it happened and what, if anything, may have been done to prevent it. Please engage sensibly rather than repeat the same thing over and over.

I was under the impression that Easyjet and BA( both named in the op) are now under the control of the EUSSR admin wonks after brexit. BA is now International Airlines Group which is a Spanish registered company( Spain currently being investgated for 19 separate fraud cases by Brussels) and Easyjet was forced to sell the British majority shareholdings to comply with the protectionist policy, that all airlines solely operating in the EUSSR market had to be under EUSSR control. Oh dear ... another premature exclamation from the dribbler in chief.
