My computer is logging out completely overnight. I have to enter my password details every morning.

It has been like this for about 3 days.

Anybody know how I can stop this. Thanks

Why don't you shut it down when you go to bed? There's no way I would leave my laptop (or anything else electrical for that matter) on all night.
What type of password(s) are you referring to, Jennyjoan?

Is it a password to log into Windows or one or more passwords to log onto specific websites (such as this one)?
Mine is on all night, good goalie, with monitor off.
JJ, I think Windows updated overnight. You will have to adjust the power settings
"Mine is on all night, good goalie, with monitor off"

So is mine, along with my fridge, freezer etc. It's not the early 1970s any more...
If you have W10, in the box bottom left type 'settings'
Open 'accounts' then click 'sign in options' in the panel on the left.
Under 'require sign in' change the box from 'when pc wakes up from sleep' to 'never'.
That should fix it

thanks all - it didn't happen last night but if it does again I think I'm on either Windows 7 or 8.
