I read it for the second time last autumn and it was better; but she is no Jane Austen. T.B.H. a lot of authors have written versions which are fun (McDiarmid's 'Northanger Abbe' for one) but nowhere near the quality. I've done a letter from JA to Cassandra, which I quite like.
