Dvd Recording Discs Problem.?

Hi i have a problem with recording on my dvd player. i am using imation +RW dvd discs and a message comes on my tv screen saying cannot record on this disc. it is very strange because i have recorded on the same discs before with success. i have cleaned the dvd player and cleaned the discs but it is a complete mystery. by the way i am not tech minded but i understand some things. an anyone help, as i am at my wits end.! the dvd player records ok on dvd + R. Thanks.

I used to use RWs, and remember they used to refuse to work after a few uses.
Perhaps buy some new ones (if they still sell them), or stick to Rs.

i was using new rw discs.

i know its new but try for erase or format if it will. I had an LG recorder for years excellent machine never had any problems i used VERBATIM DVD+RW.s
by the way everything i record over the years would never play on a dvd player or my computers' player (lots of films and tv stuff lost (lg packed up )
