Re Building Notre Dame

Just finished watching the Re Building of Notre Dame with Lucy Worsley on BBC2 - rivetting viewing !! As a retired fireman I have taken a particular interest in this but it is a real eye opener. Well worth a watch on catch up.

didnt it burn down as a result of negligence by a repair crew ( leaving a torch lit) ?

The same thing ( but smaller and English) happened at Uppark house er 25 y ago. The repair crew having lunch on the lawn saw the fire engines pile in....
and the insurers tried not to pay
( big insurance law case )

I watched it and enjoyed the programme.. The rebuild will be expensive but of course for Notre Dame no expence is spared.
