Re-Entering Uk With My Dog.

My dog must have a tapeworm treatment before reentering the Uk from the EU. As there is a window of 1-5 days to do this, does boarding the overnight ferry count as reentering the UK, or is it on disembarkation at the UK port?
Obviously I need to plan the correct time slot to arrange the treatment.

It would seem reasonable to assume that the same rules apply to dogs as those that are applied to humans. For example, when people were rushing to get back from abroad in order to avoid having to self-isolate (or having to pay to stay in a quarantine hotel if they were coming from a high-risk country) due to Covid, it was the time that their flight landed, or their ship docked, in the UK that defined the cut-off point and not the time that they'd commenced their journey.

So it would seem to be highly likely that it's the time that the ferry docks which is the relevant one in your case.

When we send our foster dogs to their new homes the vet gives them their treatment and dates their passport to show they were treated three days before entry. The dog needs to have passed the worms, if any, prior to entry to the UK

As it is the UK Border Force who are responsible for checking this is done on landing in the UK.

The treatment should be given no less than 24 hours before re entry and no more than 120 hours (5 days). As per gov website
