With his thick black beard and unsympathetic views on drug addicts, gays, and sex workers, he could easily have slotted into a police role with a Taliban type regime. He was also a fan of corporal punishment.
I sometimes wondered if he lusted to use those sex workers in the manner for which he'd whip them.

Moral crusade, arresting prostitutes of all kinds
The Times mentions confiscating a page-3 calendar - I heard a knickers and underpants booket - pre internet. ( convicted and fined)
Going soft on drugs as all the Chinese would kill each other and there would then be no drug problem ( excuse me)

Doing the same for the sikh ( areas ) and muslims

Chinese kids ( educated ) looking white - protesting loudly and credibly ( no street afro or shi-shi Indian voices) that their parents paid taxes and so had a right to police/ protection as anyone else
