Fainting

Got a bit of a fright earlier when my 12 year old nearly passed out. I let her lie in cos is school holiday today. She woke about 12, she got up and sat on the sofa. She then toddled into the kitchen to see what i was making her for brekkie. Well, she got really dizzy and was falling back, but i grabbed her. This went on for about 10 or 20 secs. She says she always feels a bit dizzy when she gets up fast but to almost pass out????? I dont think this is normal for a 12 year old. Anyone experienced this with their kids??? She really got a fright and was crying.
Believe me, she is not a hypochondriac child!!!

It is scary but just make sure you turn her on her side so she doesnt swallow her tongue until she comes round. It wasnt ever scary for me just really embarrassing. Ive landed on my teacher, Fainted in Argos and put in shop window on recliner to recover, fainted in Anne Franks House and in my local pub on the dance floor, which would have been all right if I hadnt woken to my mate slapping me hard round the face :-) Just take her to docs for blood test, they will soon tell you what is wrong.

I fainted in my old job once when we were being given a tour of the production side of things. I was in the warehouse being shown how the factory workers work and all of a sudden I felt really dizzy and just sort of collapsed! I am anemic though and hadn't had any breakfast and I think I had a slight cold too so I was abit run down!
My doctor said my blood sugar was probably in my boots and thats why! Perhaps she was just feeling low and needed some sugar! Hope she is ok.

I never took anything for it, and grew out of it, my mum used to do it a lot to in her teens. I now give blood and they test the iron so I know everything is fine now. Just make sure your daughter sits straight down as she starts to feel dizzy, I used to try and get to the nearest door not knowing that I was really in fact running all over the place, quite dangerous really.
