I have solved all three.
I do not know how 2 parses.
2. Is size of clouds in sky.

2 will be OCTA then - 'coat' (cover) with the 'co' and 'at' reversed. 'Octa' is more usually spelt 'okta'.

While I have solved the puzzle and looked at the game rules.
the even columns do not make much sense to me.

It also took me a while to figure out the alternative name of the game.

Play the game with one word versus the other, hankir - and only the J,Q,K & A scoring. There are none of these in the 8d column, so there are no scores and the letters just go one after the other.

What to make of those?

column 2 - IRAQ v BANJOS
I is played first, then B, then R, then the A from BANJOS wins potentially 4 'cards' but IRAQ counters with its own A, winning potentially 4 'cards' staring with the N, but then BANJOS plays the J winning potentially 1 'card', but IRAQ's Q is played and wins the remaining O+S (so the column is entered IBRAANJQOS).

We have played this game a lot when my kids were young. Indian name for this game translates to Pile Hand.

Thanks for the information, hankir. There are quite a few alternative names for the game but I haven't seen that one - and apologies for my explanation, it a was a bit OTT (you're far more familiar with the rules than I am - it took me quite a while to work out the moves}.
